Bad breath is often caused by bacteria breaking down food particles in the mouth. Other contributing factors may include smoking, tooth decay, or dry mouth. Maintaining good oral hygiene and staying hydrated can help, but persistent bad breath should be evaluated by your dentist

Tooth decay occurs when bacteria produce acids that weaken and break down tooth enamel. Factors such as diet, underlying health conditions, and poor oral hygiene can increase the risk.
